Our New Addition.....

This is one of Cameron's Christmas presents. He was so excited he cried. And guess what he named her, "Marley". I just hope she does not act like Marley. And the best part of all we got her from the pound. She looks like a Border Collie, but the mother was a German Shepard, Lab mix. So I guess the daddy was a Border Collie. The kids are just ecstatic.

Go Santa Go! Go Santa Go!!

That is what my daughter was saying as we watched this site: http://www.noradsanta.org/en/index.html

I am trying to embed the code so you can watch the you tube video, but I am a little tech challenged here. I just love this site. It is so fun to watch Norad track Santa!! It is an easy way to get the kids in bed when he hits the east coast here.

And for my Austrailian friends I hear he comes your way first.

Happy Christmas Layout

I have just been having some fun scrapping in the Christmas spirit. I have to admit that scrapping layouts for Christmas is a challenge for me. It seems to get a bit monotonous. KWIM? Does anyone else feel this way? So I decided to just take some inspiration from the photos themselves. Hence the Christmas tree. It is fun taking photos though of the kids. My little girl is enjoying Christmas so much and it is so fun to see the enjoyment in their faces.

This is a close up of the poinsettias with an custom brad made using my Itop. I tried something a little different with this brad and it worked well. I used one of the "snow flake" stickers from the sheet of "Tinsel Trims" foil stickers. I have to say that I was quite please with how it turned out. Then I topped if of with a "bling fling" jewel.

After cutting a tree out with my Cricut, I used the Christmas lights from the "Season's Stringings" border rubons. Then I decorated with some of the "Holidays Trimmings" and adhered some journaling.

Products used were: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned papers, chipboard sticker, foil stickers, ribbon, rubons, Itop brad maker, bling: Imaginisce; pen: Copic.
Thanks for looking.

Cute & Easy Little Christmas Gift

Well here is another easy, little gift that could be given to a coworker or neighbor. I have featured the Polar Expressions line by Imaginisce. Not only is this gift easy and quick, but you are going "Green" by using the packing of the chipboard stickers.

First I got a pack of the Polar Expressions "Warm Wishes" chipboard stickers and mounted them on the packaging insert to take away the "sticky" back and trimmed around the edges. Next, I cut some small pieces of adhesive magnetic material and stacked two pieces on the back of each sticker.

Then I inked the edges of the chipboard stickers with my Copic markers and added a little "Bling Fling" to embellish the front of the sticker, just a bit. And now the refrigerator magnets are finished.

I placed the magnets in a cute little box that I made out of two pieces of the double sided papers.

I took left over strips from the paper that I just used to make the box and I cute the edges with a decorated wavy blade from my Purple Cows cutter and crossed the strips on the top of the box to simulate a tied ribbon. And lastly I embellished two poinsettias flowers with a custom made brad from my I-top and adhered it to the top of the box.

And that was it. This was a super easy gift that would be perfect for a teacher, coworker or even a neighbor. I hope you enjoyed it.

Products used: Patterned Papers, flowers, Bling, brad & brad maker: Imainisce; Trimmer: Purple Cows; Adhesive: Glue Dots International; Copic markers.

Home made Christmas ornaments

I was feeling a little crafty tonight and I decided to try something that I don't do very much, stamp. So the way I see this is, if I can do this project then you can. I have been wanting to try and make my own gifts this year and this is one thing that I came up with. I decorated my own ornaments. It was really fairly simple.

So here is the tutorial. I hope you enjoy it.

First I had to overcome the fact that I was going to have to stamp on a curved surface. I do not have a curved acrylic block so since the Snag em stamps from Imaginisce are easy to bend I decided to just use my hand to stamp the image on the glass ornament. But now I had to figure out a way to hold the glass ornament still. So with necessity the mother of invention I used my daughter's play doh to hold the ornament still while I stamped on it. Worked like a charm!

After I stamped the images with Stazon ink and let them dry I colored in a little with my Copic markers and then brushed the ornaments with glitter glaze.

While I was letting the ornaments dry I wrapped the holiday trims around the handle of a basket.

After the ornaments had dried I tied a ribbon on the top of the ornament for decoration.

Next, I decorated the front and back of the basket handle with a couple of the Polar Expressions poinsettias and finished them off with a brad made with my I-top.

And now the finished gift basket of ornaments.

This little gift basket was easy and fairly quick to make. I hope this inspires you to make some of your gifts this year.
Products used: Patterned paper (grass in basket), ribbon, stamps, poinsettias, I-top brad maker all by Imaginisce; Ink: Stazon; Copic markers; Glitter Glaze: Making Memories; Basket: Micheal's.
